Our client is currently driving an advanced product development initiative within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and is now looking for an extremely experienced Electrical System Design Engineer to take a leading role in the development of next-generation energy storage solutions.

About the assignment

You will work with end-to-end system design of stationary energy storage products, with a strong focus on grid interaction and power conversion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Power conversion system selection (PCS), transformers, and grid connections

• Electrical system design including schematics, layouts, and engineering requirements

• Product development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

• Leading system engineering work within a technical team

• Driving concept investigations and evaluating system-level alternatives

• Defining and securing system and non-functional requirements

• Integrating deliveries from multiple engineering disciplines

• Securing quality, readiness, and verification before release

• Developing and maintaining system architecture and technical roadmaps

• Supporting product management by breaking down capabilities into features and enablers

• Taking concepts through decision forums and approvals

• Managing interfaces and dependencies within agile development setups

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in electrical system design or system engineering

• Proven experience with stationary BESS and grid-connected inverters

• Strong background working with electrical grids, power plants, or substations

• Energy-sector background (e.g. power & energy companies, not automotive)

• Experience from start-up or scale-up environments

• Solid understanding of system architecture, requirements management, and verification

• Comfortable leading complex technical work and mentoring others
