We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer with around 1–2 years of experience, specializing in test automation, to join a dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software through automated testing solutions.

You will work within a cross-functional agile team focused on developing cutting-edge connectivity solutions for next-generation vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute as an active member of an Agile Scrum team

• Develop and maintain automated test cases within existing frameworks

• Work in a Linux (Ubuntu) environment for development and testing

• Monitor and execute test suites and test cases daily

• Perform software updates on test rigs

• Conduct manual testing on rigs and test vehicles when required

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement)

• Track and report progress using JIRA

• Participate in test expeditions and quality assurance activities

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in software development or test automation

• Strong experience with automated testing frameworks

• Solid knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) environment

• Familiarity with:

  • Bash scripting

  • Git / Gerrit

  • Jenkins (CI/CD)

• Strong communication skills in Swedish (spoken and written)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Programming experience in C++ and Python (PyTest)

• Experience with Robot Framework

• Knowledge of embedded systems or embedded software development

• Familiarity with Android testing frameworks (e.g., xTS)

• Experience working in Agile environments

• Swedish language proficiency

• Previous experience in automotive or Volvo Cars projects

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Software Engineering

  • Computer Science

  • or related field
