Manufacturing Engineer – Body Engineering (Virtual Manufacturing)
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a Commodity Painted Body – Hang-on Parts team within Body Engineering.
In this role, you will work as a Virtual Manufacturing Engineer, contributing to the development and implementation of quality-assured, flexible, and efficient production systems across global body shop plants.
About the Team
The team operates in a cross-functional and project-oriented environment, supporting global production plants and vehicle programs.
The focus is on delivering robust and scalable manufacturing solutions aligned with key performance targets such as quality, cost efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate, prepare, and implement products and manufacturing processes (manual and automated)
Perform virtual manufacturing simulations and validations
Ensure cross-functional alignment between:
Manufacturing Engineering
Production facilities
Engineering teams
Support global plants and programs with process development and industrialization
Optimize manufacturing performance related to:
Quality
Line balancing
Cost efficiency
Environmental impact
Flexibility and changeover
Work with digital tools to simulate, validate, and improve production setups
Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of processes
Required Qualifications
Experience in process design for Body Shop manufacturing
Knowledge of Design for Assembly (DFA) / Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Strong expertise in:
Siemens Teamcenter
Process Simulate
Experience in robot offline programming
University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
