Test Leader – Vehicle Software Testing

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Test Leader – Vehicle Software Testing to join a dynamic Functional Testing team. In this role, you will lead testing and validation activities for complete software baselines using advanced automotive testing environments such as Boxcar, VIL, and vehicle-level setups.

You will collaborate closely with software developers, system engineers, and test teams to ensure high-quality, reliable software supporting vehicle testing and validation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, design, and execute software testing activities in Boxcar, VIL, and vehicle environments

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing

  • Develop and maintain automated test cases and scripts

  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and track resolution of issues

  • Collaborate with VIL teams to improve simulation reliability and test coverage

  • Support setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of VIL environments

  • Drive continuous improvement of testing tools, methods, and workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field

  • Proven experience in software testing (manual and/or automated), preferably in automotive environments (Boxcar, VIL, or vehicle testing)

  • Understanding of testing methodologies such as V-model, ISTQB principles

  • Basic knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, CAPL, or similar)

  • Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and clearly communicate findings

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Valid driving license (T1 or equivalent)

  • Fluency in Swedish (required for on-site testing activities)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of ECU diagnostics, simulation models, or real-time systems

  • Experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, vTestStudio)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

  • ISTQB certification
