Industrial Engineer – Lead
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer – Lead Level to optimize and improve manufacturing systems, production flows, and operational efficiency across industrial facilities. The role focuses on enhancing the interconnected components of manufacturing operations, including plant layouts, workflow ergonomics, production sequencing, equipment utilization, and facility planning.
This position requires a highly analytical and proactive professional capable of driving complex industrial engineering initiatives, leading cross-functional improvements, and supporting operational excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The role typically requires 8+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Optimization
Analyze and optimize manufacturing systems, production flows, and operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance.
Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel.
Evaluate and improve plant layouts, workstation ergonomics, material flow, and equipment positioning.
Develop and implement production process improvements, balancing productivity, lead time, and operational flexibility.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and operational performance.
Facility Planning & Industrialization
Support manufacturing plants and facility engineering teams with facility planning, capacity analysis, and production line design.
Participate in industrialization projects, factory expansions, and manufacturing system implementations.
Conduct time studies, line balancing, and workflow simulations to optimize production capacity.
Develop and maintain standards for manufacturing methods and operational procedures.
Cost, Inventory & Operational Studies
Conduct cost analysis, inventory optimization, and production control studies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to waste reduction, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
Safety & Human Factors
Support implementation of ergonomic improvements and human factors engineering principles.
Assist in establishing accident prevention measures and safe working methods.
Collaborate with EHS teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead large industrial engineering projects and cross-functional improvement initiatives with limited managerial oversight.
Coach, review, and support junior engineers and manufacturing professionals.
Coordinate activities with manufacturing, logistics, quality, maintenance, and production teams.
Drive problem-solving activities for complex operational and production challenges.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience within industrial engineering or manufacturing operations.
Strong experience in manufacturing process optimization and facility planning.
Experience with production systems, workflow analysis, line balancing, and capacity planning.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and industrial engineering methodologies.
Experience conducting time studies, ergonomic evaluations, and operational efficiency analyses.
Ability to lead complex projects independently and drive improvements across multiple stakeholders.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience from automotive, heavy industry, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with CAD/layout tools and manufacturing simulation software.
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and production planning tools.
Experience supporting global manufacturing organizations.
