Senior System Verification Engineer – Node Owner
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior System Verification Engineer – Node Owner to join a Vehicle Control team consisting of engineers located in Sweden and Brazil. The ownership area includes Functions, Nodes, Logic Design, and Verification of subsystems.
The primary focus of this role is sub-system level verification in rig environments (V4 and V5), integrating multiple ECUs and validating system functionality by translating logic design requirements into structured test requirements and test cases.
In parallel, the consultant will act as a Node Owner, taking responsibility for assigned ECUs and Embedded Software (ESW) to ensure verified system behavior across the V-model, with full traceability, quality, and release readiness.
Main Responsibilities
System Verification & Validation (Primary Focus)
Define, establish, and validate system verification environments based on system behavior and component interfaces.
Integrate, verify, and validate electrical and functional systems at sub-system level.
Ensure verification is performed at the correct V-model level (V4 / V5).
Execute verification according to defined scopes, plans, and directives.
Analyze verification results and draw conclusions when system behavior is partially defined.
Identify, drive, and resolve system and integration issues.
Secure system quality, robustness, and readiness before release.
Take operational responsibility for day-to-day system verification delivery.
Lead system verification and system engineering activities within a technical team.
Drive shift-left verification strategies.
Test Engineering & Verification Execution
Translate logic design requirements into test requirements.
Define verification criteria and test targets for features and functions.
Create and execute test plans using simulation and rig testing.
Write and maintain test cases.
Document test cases and results in SystemWeaver.
Create Product Issue Logs (PILs) when defects are identified.
Analyze results, manage fault reports, and document engineering reports.
Plan which End User Functions (EuFs) to test based on baseline, legal requirements, and open issues.
Continuously improve verification methods and strategies.
Node Owner – ECU & Embedded Software Accountability
Own and maintain assigned ECUs and Embedded Software (ESW) throughout the lifecycle.
Ensure ECU and ESW fulfill system and technical requirements related to quality, timing, and cost.
Plan and follow up ECU/ESW development with internal teams and external suppliers.
Ensure node verification aligns with system verification needs and strategies.
Own and maintain Software Requirement Specifications and Technical Requirements.
Coordinate, document, and release ECUs and software according to established development processes.
Maintain KOLA, SW Configurator, RxSWIN JSON, and related structures.
Act as the main technical contact for the node toward projects, factories, and aftermarket.
Update, create, and maintain TARA to ensure cybersecurity compliance.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
Apply advanced knowledge in system verification, ECU/ESW, and integration.
Support and mentor junior engineers and peers.
Act as a role model in knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Develop a T-shaped competence profile with deep system expertise and broad verification understanding.
Work effectively across global engineering networks and communicate value to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Several years of experience in automotive system verification and validation.
Strong experience with V4 and V5 rig testing.
Solid understanding of ECUs and embedded software.
Experience in system requirements, interfaces, and system integration.
Hands-on experience with SystemWeaver.
Experience creating test requirements, test plans, and test cases.
Knowledge of Product Issue Logs (PILs) and defect management.
Experience with KOLA, SW Configurator, and RxSWIN JSON.
Understanding of cybersecurity and TARA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with End User Functions (EuFs).
Knowledge of legal and regulatory verification requirements.
Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with supplier coordination and release processes.
Personal Attributes
Structured and detail-oriented.
Self-driven and accountable.
Strong collaboration and leadership abilities.
Quality-focused with a systems-thinking mindset.
Proactive and solution-oriented.
