Tax Strategy & Policy Lead
We are looking for an experienced Tax Strategy & Policy Lead to join a dynamic global finance and tax function. This role is ideal for a senior tax professional with strong expertise across domestic and international tax strategy, governance, compliance, and advisory. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving tax policy initiatives, supporting complex business transactions, and ensuring robust tax governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage strategic tax projects and end-to-end tax processes with minimal supervision.
Provide internal advisory support on operational tax matters across multiple business functions.
Handle domestic and international tax strategy and policy matters.
Support issues related to:
Withholding taxes
Foreign tax credits
Cash tax governance
Mandatory disclosure reporting requirements
Partner with finance stakeholders to support efficient legal and capital structures across local and international entities.
Advise on ad-hoc projects including:
Restructuring initiatives
Mergers & acquisitions
Corporate reorganizations
Conduct tax risk assessments and contribute to tax risk reporting processes.
Oversee governance and quality assurance of tax returns and compliance processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within tax governance and policy frameworks.
Coach, mentor, and review work of junior tax professionals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, accounting, and business leadership teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience in corporate tax, international tax, or tax strategy & policy.
Strong knowledge of:
International taxation
Corporate tax regulations
Tax governance and compliance
Tax risk management
Withholding tax regulations
Foreign tax credit mechanisms
Mandatory disclosure rules/reporting
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and corporate finance initiatives.
Strong understanding of legal and capital structure optimization.
Expertise in tax reporting, tax returns governance, and process quality assurance.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and complex tax matters independently.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Leadership experience including coaching and mentoring teams.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent are advantageous.
