Senior Test Engineer – Mechanical Testing
We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, planning, executing, and analyzing verification activities for features, functions, and field tests within advanced transport and vehicle technologies.
You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure high-quality test methods, technical requirements, and validation strategies across both virtual and physical testing environments.
This position is ideal for a senior technical expert who combines deep testing competence with leadership, mentoring, and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Define verification criteria for feature, function, and field testing.
Deliver technical test requirements upstream within development projects using:
Simulation
Rig testing
Physical vehicle testing
Perform physical and virtual testing activities including:
Performance testing
Fuel consumption measurements and calculations
Wind resistance and soiling testing
Climate testing
Durability testing
Noise testing
Understand functional requirements and define appropriate test targets.
Identify verification needs and create comprehensive test plans.
Manage, prepare, plan, and execute testing activities.
Analyze test results and provide technical recommendations.
Prepare and manage fault reports from testing activities.
Document results and compile engineering reports.
Continuously improve and update:
Test methods
Test codes
Technical requirements
Develop strategies and test methods for new technologies and transport solutions.
Support deployment of testing activities across new markets and testing sites.
Act as a technical expert and go-to person within the testing domain.
Train, coach, and mentor junior engineers and team members.
Collaborate across global engineering networks and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of relevant experience within testing, validation, or verification engineering.
Strong experience within:
Mechanical testing
Feature and function verification
Field testing
Vehicle testing environments
Experience working with simulation, rig testing, and physical vehicle validation.
Proven ability to define and improve test methods and verification strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing complex technical investigations and reporting.
Ability to work independently and lead technical activities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Fluent English communication skills.
