System Design Engineer – Powertrain Control (Expert)
We are seeking an experienced System Design Engineer to join a Powertrain Control team focused on the development of advanced control systems for internal combustion engine (ICE) applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, developing, and validating control system solutions within distributed electrical and electronic architectures. The role requires close collaboration with software, system, calibration, and verification teams to ensure robust and efficient powertrain functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain system requirements, functional specifications, and control strategies for powertrain control systems.
Design and define control system architectures for internal combustion engine applications.
Analyze system behavior and ensure compliance with performance, quality, and functional requirements.
Collaborate with software development teams to ensure correct implementation of control functions.
Support system integration, verification, and validation activities throughout the development lifecycle.
Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and technical investigations.
Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
Ensure traceability between customer requirements, system requirements, and implemented solutions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including software, calibration, testing, diagnostics, and vehicle integration.
Support continuous improvement of development methods, processes, and system architectures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in system engineering and control system development.
Strong understanding of powertrain control systems and internal combustion engine technologies.
Experience defining system requirements and functional specifications.
Knowledge of embedded control systems and distributed electrical/electronic architectures.
Experience working within automotive product development environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
