Materials & Corrosion Engineer
We are seeking a Materials & Corrosion Engineer to support material selection, metallurgical investigations, corrosion protection, laboratory testing, and failure analysis activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work with a wide range of engineering materials including cast aluminum, extruded aluminum, steel, cast iron, and coated metallic systems. The role combines laboratory-based material characterization, corrosion analysis, mechanical testing, and engineering support to ensure product durability, quality, and performance.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams to evaluate materials, investigate failures, develop testing methods, and recommend material and corrosion protection solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Materials Engineering & Metallurgy
Support material selection and qualification activities for engineering applications.
Evaluate metallic materials including aluminum castings, extrusions, steel, cast iron, and coated components.
Perform metallurgical investigations and material characterization.
Analyze manufacturing-related defects, casting defects, and material performance issues.
Corrosion Engineering
Assess corrosion risks and recommend suitable corrosion protection strategies.
Evaluate coatings, surface treatments, and corrosion-resistant materials.
Conduct corrosion investigations and root-cause analysis of field failures.
Support durability and environmental performance assessments.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
Perform mechanical testing including tensile testing, bend testing, hardness testing, and related evaluations.
Prepare metallographic samples and conduct microstructural analysis.
Conduct optical microscopy, SEM, and EDS analysis.
Analyze test results and provide technical recommendations.
