Senior System Designer – Alarm & Tailgate Functions
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Designer to join a team responsible for developing vehicle functions related to Alarm, Tailgate & Lids, External Load, and Glass Roof systems.
This role will primarily focus on Tailgate Functions, contributing to both existing and next-generation vehicle programs and electrical architectures. You will play a key role in defining, developing, and validating customer-oriented functions and system solutions that enhance vehicle usability, safety, and user experience.
As a System Designer, you will work closely with software, hardware, function owners, safety engineers, and suppliers to ensure robust system solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Function Development
Define, develop, and maintain vehicle functions and system behaviors related to:
Tailgate Systems
Door Control Systems
Locking Systems
Alarm Functions
Related Body Functions
Develop customer-oriented functional behaviors and technical solutions.
Analyze system interactions and dependencies at vehicle level.
Ensure robust and scalable system solutions aligned with future vehicle architectures.
Requirements Engineering
Create and maintain system requirements across multiple abstraction levels.
Perform requirement decomposition and allocation to system, software, and hardware components.
Ensure full traceability from stakeholder requirements to implementation and verification.
Support change management and requirement impact analysis activities.
System Modelling & Architecture
Model and document system solutions according to architectural guidelines.
Support systemization activities and system behavior modelling.
Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical investigations.
Ensure consistency between functional, logical, and technical system descriptions.
Functional Safety
Contribute to safety-related system design activities.
Support development of safety concepts and systemization according to ISO 26262.
Collaborate with safety engineers to ensure compliance with functional safety requirements.
Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration
Participate in technical discussions and reviews with suppliers.
Drive technical alignment between internal teams and external partners.
Evaluate supplier proposals and technical solutions.
Coordinate activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
Verification & Validation Support
Support system verification and validation activities.
Participate in reviews of test specifications and test results.
Analyze verification outcomes and support issue resolution.
Ensure delivered solutions meet functional and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education
Master of Science (MSc) in:
Systems, Control & Mechatronics
Computer Engineering
Engineering Physics
Electrical Engineering
Automotive Engineering
Or equivalent experience
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in:
System Design
Function Development
Systems Engineering
Automotive Embedded Systems
Proven experience with:

System Modelling

Experience working with vehicle functions and distributed automotive systems.
