Senior Industrial Engineer (Smart Factory & Manufacturing Engineering)
We are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to support the transformation toward the Smart Factory of the Future. This role offers the opportunity to shape next-generation manufacturing by combining digitalization, automation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
As a Senior Industrial Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, and Production Management to optimize manufacturing processes and implement innovative Industry 4.0/5.0 solutions.
You will play a key role in developing smarter, greener, and more efficient production systems while supporting the organization's long-term sustainability and digital transformation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Plan and optimize production flows for manufacturing and assembly operations.
Create and maintain production plans and manufacturing data within SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
Perform work measurement and time studies to establish production standards and improve manufacturing performance.
Develop and maintain assembly instructions, work standards, and manufacturing documentation.
Manage engineering changes (ECNs/ECRs) and support implementation of design modifications into production.
Lead and participate in investment projects related to manufacturing equipment, automation, robotics, and factory digitalization.
Drive implementation of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies, including connected manufacturing, digital twins, traceability, smart data utilization, and advanced production analytics.
Participate in Smart Factory initiatives by evaluating, validating, and implementing new manufacturing technologies.
Support continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Collaborate closely with Production, R&D, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, Maintenance, and external suppliers.
Analyze production performance and identify opportunities for process optimization.
Support sustainability initiatives through energy-efficient manufacturing methods, waste reduction, circular production, and fossil-free manufacturing practices.
Lead technical workshops and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical guidance to production teams during new product introductions and production changes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience improving manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing systems.
Hands-on experience with:
Time studies
Work measurement
Line balancing
Capacity calculations
Process optimization
Experience managing engineering changes and production implementation.
Hands-on experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
Experience using 3D CAD software.
Experience leading technical improvement or investment projects.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
