We are looking for a hands-on Test Vehicle Workshop Technician to join an automotive product development team supporting prototype and development vehicles throughout their lifecycle.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, modifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing development vehicles while supporting engineering teams during vehicle builds, software updates, validation activities, and testing. You will work closely with engineers, suppliers, and workshop personnel to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of test vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare development vehicles before registration and handover to internal users.

• Perform harness installations and ETC (Electrical Test Configuration) builds according to engineering requests.

• Perform electrical and mechanical fault tracing on development and prototype vehicles.

• Install and update vehicle software and hardware according to approved work orders.

• Carry out repair and maintenance work on development vehicles.

• Perform vehicle de-preparation activities after the vehicle lifecycle is completed.

• Investigate and resolve electrical issues resulting from prototype rebuilds and incomplete system integrations.

• Support product development by modifying and updating test vehicles based on project requirements.

• Assist engineering teams with vehicle builds, upgrades, and prototype modifications.

• Provide technical support during supplier visits and external development activities.

• Participate in vehicle expeditions, validation trips, and field testing activities.

• Ensure all vehicle modifications are completed according to quality standards and project timelines.

• Support the daily operation of the workshop.

• Maintain workshop organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards.

• Document completed work and report technical findings where required.

Required Qualifications

• Technical education in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience working with prototype or development vehicles within the automotive industry.

• Practical experience in vehicle assembly, rebuilds, and workshop activities.

• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience performing electrical and mechanical fault tracing.

• Experience installing and updating vehicle software and hardware.

• Hands-on experience reading and executing engineering work orders.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and vehicle documentation.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

• Valid Category B driving licence.
