Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to operate and support complex enterprise IT environments. The role combines hands-on Linux administration, enterprise application support, automation, cloud infrastructure, high availability, monitoring, security, and advanced troubleshooting.
You will work closely with infrastructure, application, database, network, storage, security teams, and external service providers to ensure reliable, secure, and highly available business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support enterprise Linux environments, including RHEL or similar distributions.
Manage Linux services, system logs, permissions, filesystems, processes, and system performance.
Perform advanced OS-level troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis.
Support and operate complex business-critical and COTS applications.
Coordinate application upgrades, patching, maintenance windows, and software releases.
Troubleshoot issues across application, operating system, network, storage, and infrastructure layers.
Work with networking technologies including DNS, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and connectivity.
Support enterprise storage environments, including SAN/NAS, disk performance, capacity, and filesystem troubleshooting.
Manage and troubleshoot certificates, PKI, TLS, authentication, and authorization.
Implement security hardening, access controls, and Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP) practices.
Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or equivalent tools.
Operate workloads in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure, including hybrid on-premises/cloud architectures.
Support High Availability (HA) and resilience solutions, including active/passive failover, redundancy, load balancing, and disaster recovery.
Work with failover technologies such as Keepalived or equivalent solutions.
Monitor infrastructure and applications using tools such as Prometheus, Exporters, and Grafana.
Analyze metrics, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with internal technical teams and external service providers to resolve complex operational issues.
Contribute to governance, compliance, access management, documentation, and operational best practices.
Drive continuous improvement, automation, standardization, and reliability across the infrastructure environment.
Required Qualifications
Strong professional experience in Linux / Infrastructure Administration.
Solid hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux environments, preferably RHEL or similar.
Strong knowledge of:
Linux service management
System logs and troubleshooting
Permissions and access management
Filesystem troubleshooting
Performance analysis
OS-level debugging
Broad knowledge of enterprise IT operations and infrastructure.
Good understanding of:
DNS, routing, load balancing, and firewalls
SAN/NAS and storage infrastructure
Disk performance and capacity management
Certificates, PKI, and TLS
Authentication and authorization
Security hardening and operational best practices
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or COTS applications.
Experience with application upgrades, patching, maintenance windows, and release coordination.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across multiple infrastructure layers.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
Practical experience operating workloads in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of hybrid on-premises and cloud architectures.
Experience with High Availability, redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, and resilience planning.
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Strong understanding of operational security, access control, and Least Privilege principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to coordinate effectively with infrastructure specialists, databases, networking, storage, security teams, and external vendors.
Preferred / Meritorious Skills
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster architecture and troubleshooting containerized workloads.
Experience designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Experience with NGINX, HAProxy, or other reverse proxy/load-balancing technologies.
Working knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases.
Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, and RBAC.
Understanding of authentication flows across enterprise systems.
Experience working with software vendors and external service providers.
Ability to evaluate and challenge technical recommendations and drive operational improvements.
Experience creating runbooks, operational procedures, architecture documentation, and technical standards.
Strong focus on process improvement and infrastructure standardization.
Experience working in regulated, security-critical, or high-availability environments.
