Durability Analysis & Sensor Design Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Durability Analysis & Sensor Design Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team focused on vehicle durability, structural analysis, and sensor development. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and applying measurement sensors—primarily strain gauges—to capture vehicle loads and validate engineering simulations.
You will work closely with CAE engineers, design engineers, and test engineers to develop accurate sensor solutions, perform durability simulations, and establish durability targets that support next-generation vehicle development. The position offers a unique opportunity to combine CAE, CAD, physical testing, and analytical engineering in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sensor Design & Development
Lead the end-to-end sensor design process with a focus on strain gauge applications.
Define measurement requirements, load cases, and sensor specifications.
Design sensor fixtures and components for vehicle and laboratory testing.
Perform stress and strain analysis to determine optimal strain gauge placement.
Plan, coordinate, and support sensor calibration activities.
Ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reliability throughout the testing process.
Collaborate with testing teams to validate sensor performance on vehicles and test rigs.
Durability Analysis
Perform stress and strain CAE simulations for chassis systems and components.
Conduct fatigue and durability analyses to predict component service life.
Support product development by providing engineering recommendations to improve vehicle durability.
Define and develop durability requirements, targets, and engineering guidelines.
Correlate simulation results with physical test data to improve CAE model accuracy.
Support design reviews by identifying durability risks and recommending design improvements.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with CAE, CAD, Design, Testing, and Vehicle Engineering teams.
Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines and organizational functions.
Translate analytical findings into practical engineering recommendations.
Support continuous improvement of durability methodologies, sensor technologies, and engineering processes.
Prepare technical reports and communicate engineering results to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Several years of documented experience in the durability engineering domain.
Strong knowledge of wheel suspension systems and chassis design.
Good understanding of the complete vehicle development process.
Experience performing stress, strain, fatigue, and durability analysis.
Experience with strain gauge applications and sensor design.
Ability to develop engineering requirements and technical guidelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
