Senior Basetech System Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Basetech System Engineer to join an international automotive engineering team in Gothenburg.

You will be part of the EE Architecture team within the Electronics and Software Center, working with electrical architecture, base technologies, system integration, software and vehicle communication technologies.

The role focuses on ensuring that in-vehicle and offboard vehicle systems comply with relevant base technology requirements, processes and standards. You will work across the complete development lifecycle, from concept and requirements through supplier interaction, testing, verification and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of base technology concepts, specifications and requirements.

  • Review and follow up on SWIM issues.

  • Perform base technology compatibility reviews with suppliers.

  • Plan and support testing, verification and validation activities.

  • Work closely with engineering, software, IT and supplier teams.

  • Support base technology-related platform updates across different vehicle products.

  • Collaborate with international teams across Europe and Asia.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of automotive electrical and software systems.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with automotive base technologies.

  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, architecture and/or software.

  • Experience with automotive communication and base technologies such as:

    • CAN / CAN FD

    • FlexRay

    • Automotive Ethernet

    • SWDL

    • PDU routing

  • Experience with embedded systems, software development or testing methodologies.

  • Knowledge of automotive best practices, standards and regulations.

  • Experience with automotive testing and verification tools such as CANoe, DSA or SPA-DVA.

  • Experience with supplier interaction and technical compatibility reviews is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Open Alliance TC18 Remote Control Protocol and TC19 Software Defined Networks is a plus.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
