We are seeking an experienced System Designer with a strong background in automotive systems development to join our client team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system design and software function development within complex vehicle systems.
The role involves designing system-level solutions, defining requirements and interfaces, supporting software function development, and collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop system-level solutions for automotive functions in alignment with product and platform requirements.
Drive and support software function development, from concept definition through implementation, integration, and validation.
Define and maintain system requirements, interfaces, architecture, and functional specifications.
Ensure traceability, consistency, and alignment between system requirements, design, implementation, and verification.
Collaborate closely with software, hardware, verification, product, and other engineering stakeholders.
Support system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across vehicle systems.
Analyze technical requirements and translate them into robust and scalable system solutions.
Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement of system engineering and development processes.
Manage technical dependencies and coordinate activities across multiple teams in a complex development environment.
Required Qualifications
Proven professional experience as a System Designer / System Engineer within the automotive industry.
Experience in software function development for complex automotive systems.
Strong understanding of automotive system architecture, signals, interfaces, and system interactions.
Experience working in a complex, cross-functional stakeholder environment.
Strong ability to coordinate, communicate, and align technical requirements across different engineering teams.
B driving license.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
Valuable Experience
Hands-on experience with CarWeaver or similar system engineering tools.
Experience with system modelling, requirements management, and architecture tools.
Experience working with vehicle-level functions and distributed automotive systems.
Experience with system integration and troubleshooting.
Nice to Have
Experience with established automotive OEM development processes and tool ecosystems.
Knowledge of Functional Safety / ISO 26262.
Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies in automotive software development.
Experience testing and validating automotive functions directly on vehicles.
Experience with legal, regulatory, or compliance-related functions.
Experience working with safety-critical or safety-related systems.
Experience with exterior lighting systems.
Experience with vehicle communication networks, signals, and interfaces.
