We are looking for an experienced Product Owner – Master Data to take end-to-end ownership of a future Master Data capability.

You will be responsible for building Master Data as a product and organisational capability, covering vision, roadmap, data models, data sources, quality, ownership, maintenance and distribution across systems.

This is a hands-on builder role for someone who can translate business needs and strategic objectives into a technically implemented MDM/data platform and establish effective ways of working between business and IT.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Master Data product vision, strategy, roadmap and backlog.

• Define master data domains, objects, relationships and ownership.

• Identify and structure data sources and master data flows across systems.

• Establish data quality rules, validation processes and quality controls.

• Drive master data from creation and validation through maintenance, updates and distribution.

• Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, data engineers and IT teams.

• Define and drive integrations, APIs and data flows between source and consuming systems.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliverable product increments.

• Establish clear responsibilities and operating processes between business and IT.

• Prioritise the backlog and ensure delivery according to the roadmap.

• Contribute to decisions around MDM platforms, architecture and technical solutions.

• Ensure the implemented Master Data capability is adopted and continuously improved.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner for data, MDM, integration or a similar technical platform.

• Practical experience with Master Data Management and the complete end-to-end master data lifecycle.

• Strong understanding of data modelling, master data objects, relationships and data quality.

• Good technical understanding of system architecture, integrations, APIs and data flows.

• Experience driving a roadmap and backlog from vision to implemented solution.

• Ability to combine business stakeholder management, data governance and technical execution.

• Strong communication skills and experience working across business and IT.

Preferred Experience

• Experience establishing an MDM capability from the ground up, particularly where the platform or operating model was not already defined.

• Experience with automated data flows, validation and quality controls across multiple source systems.

• Experience using AI or automation to support master data management.

• Experience from real estate, retail, manufacturing, industrial or other complex environments involving product, object or customer master data.

• Experience participating in MDM platform or data architecture selection.
