V.A.S. Autonomous Transport Solution Sign-Off Lead
We are looking for a highly experienced V.A.S. Autonomous Transport Solution Sign-Off Lead to support the assessment and sign-off readiness of advanced Level 4 autonomous transport solutions.
V.A.S. is responsible for collecting, consolidating, and assessing the information, data, evidence, and work products required to determine whether an Autonomous Transport Solution is ready for a sign-off recommendation.
The assessment supports both Volvo internal decision forums and joint decision-making together with Autonomous Driving (AD) Partners.
This is a highly senior role requiring a combination of technical automotive expertise, systems engineering knowledge, autonomous vehicle experience, project coordination, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making.
The successful candidate must be able to understand complex technical information, identify gaps and risks, challenge stakeholders with the right questions, and ensure that complete, consistent, traceable, and high-quality evidence is available for sign-off decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the collection of evidence, technical information, data, and work products from Volvo engineering teams and Autonomous Driving Partners.
Maintain an overall view of deliverables, responsibilities, dependencies, milestones, risks, open issues, and decisions.
Review technical and project documentation for completeness, consistency, traceability, quality, and sign-off readiness.
Continuously follow up with internal and external stakeholders to close documentation and evidence gaps.
Coordinate across software, hardware, vehicle, systems engineering, safety, verification, validation, and autonomous-driving teams.
Organize and facilitate technical reviews, readiness reviews, and project reviews covering the complete Autonomous Transport Solution.
Identify and escalate technical risks, deviations, missing evidence, unresolved dependencies, and pending decisions.
Assess whether the complete solution has sufficient evidence to proceed toward sign-off.
Prepare a consolidated readiness assessment and sign-off recommendation for Volvo and joint Volvo–AD Partner decision forums.
Maintain decision records and ensure agreed actions are assigned, followed up, and closed.
Ensure documentation and evidence are delivered according to agreed milestones and quality expectations.
Facilitate alignment between Volvo and external technology/Autonomous Driving partners throughout the assessment process.
Required Qualifications & Experience
15+ years of professional experience in automotive systems.
Proven expertise in Level 4 autonomous vehicle integration, validation, and sign-off.
Extensive experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing complex automotive software and hardware systems.
Strong background in Systems Engineering and complete vehicle/system development.
Extensive experience with requirements management and requirements traceability.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
Deep understanding of automotive development processes, frameworks, verification, validation, and technical governance.
Strong software and hardware development background within ADAS and Automated Driving.
Experience with sensors, actuators, vehicle control systems, and vehicle-level integration.
Strong understanding of OEM–Tier supplier relationships and automotive supplier ecosystems.
Experience collaborating with external technology suppliers and preferably Autonomous Driving technology partners.
Proven ability to evaluate complex technical evidence and determine system/readiness status.
Experience working in both start-up and multicultural OEM environments.
Exposure to business development, sales, marketing, and engineering leadership.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in an international environment.
