Senior Vehicle Design Engineer / Design Integration Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Vehicle Design Engineer / Design Integration Engineer to support vehicle development within a design studio environment in Sweden. The role acts as the technical bridge between vehicle design and engineering, ensuring that design intent is translated into technically feasible and manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Represent engineering within the design team and communicate design intent and technical needs across engineering functions.
Translate engineering requirements, regulations, and technical constraints into feasible design solutions.
Support technically challenging areas and develop practical engineering solutions aligned with design direction.
Manage, document, and follow up agreements between design and engineering teams.
Evaluate and document the feasibility of design themes and identify critical technical issues.
Provide technical input throughout the vehicle development process for both interior and exterior components.
Support design studio activities, including clay model setup related to standing heights, wheel positions, seating positions, package requirements, and other vehicle parameters.
Collaborate closely with designers, product engineers, manufacturing, tooling, and validation teams.
Ensure component concepts meet engineering, validation, manufacturing, tooling, and legislative requirements.
Contribute to vehicle product concepts and component development in aesthetically sensitive areas.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical university degree or equivalent engineering education.
10+ years of automotive industry experience.
Strong knowledge of complete vehicle engineering, covering both interior and exterior.
Comprehensive understanding of the vehicle development process.
Extensive experience in automotive product concept and component engineering.
Experience with aesthetically sensitive vehicle components.
Previous experience working closely with or within a vehicle design studio is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of component engineering and validation processes.
Good knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and tooling lead times.
Strong experience with CATIA V5, including:
Solid modelling
Surface modelling
Strong Teamcenter experience, preferably with authoring capabilities.
Working knowledge of MS Office and Jira.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
Comfortable taking ownership and leading technical discussions.
Highly structured, effective, and solution-oriented.
Strong collaboration skills with both design and engineering stakeholders.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.
