Senior Expert – ADS Software Component Owner
We are seeking a highly experienced ADS Software Component Owner to take ownership of the combined software for an Autonomous Driving System (ADS) node. The role focuses on software release management, system integration, supplier coordination, and ensuring high-quality software delivery throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in automotive embedded software, hardware-software integration, and cross-functional engineering coordination, ensuring that software meets functional safety, cybersecurity, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical contact for all questions and decisions related to ADS node software.
Represent the ADS node in software release processes, technical reviews, and engineering forums.
Coordinate software and hardware releases with component owners, verification and validation teams, and other stakeholders.
Manage software deliveries from external autonomous driving partners and integrate them into the vehicle software baseline.
Ensure synchronization of software dependencies, replacement chains, transitions, and hardware-software compatibility.
Monitor node performance and capacity requirements, including CPU utilization, memory consumption, operational needs, and future roadmap demands.
Coordinate the integration of diagnostics, calibration, and other software components, driving the resolution of integration issues.
Ensure that development, manufacturing, production, and aftermarket tools can adequately test, diagnose, and support the software.
Verify that ADS node functionality is sufficiently tested and that identified deviations are addressed before release.
Maintain technical documentation, part numbers, software variants, compatibility information, diagnostic objects, calibration requirements, service routines, and relevant engineering data.
Support product planning and risk-management activities, including FMEA, HARA, TARA, and SIP.
Contribute to the prioritization, investigation, and resolution of product-related issues.
Lead technical communication with external partners in collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and other relevant stakeholders.
Support Statements of Work (SOW), Product Change Requests (PCR), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and aftermarket teams to ensure reliable software integration and delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in automotive software engineering, embedded systems, system integration, or a related technical field.
Proven experience in software component ownership, automotive software release management, or system integration.
Strong understanding of automotive electronic control units (ECUs), embedded software, and hardware-software interfaces.
Experience managing software integration, release coordination, and technical dependencies across multiple teams and external suppliers.
Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, calibration, and vehicle software integration processes.
Familiarity with functional safety, cybersecurity, and automotive product risk-management practices.
Experience with engineering change management, technical documentation, and product lifecycle processes.
