Integration Test & Validation Engineer – Telematics (TSP Focus)
We are looking for an experienced Telematics Integration Test Engineer to perform joint integration testing and end-to-end (E2E) validation of connected vehicle services within a Telematics Service Provider (TSP) ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of connected vehicle architecture and business logic, including interactions between backend microservices, vehicle telematics systems, and mobile applications. The role requires hands-on experience in SQL-based data validation, backend log analysis, API testing, and cross-functional troubleshooting to ensure seamless communication and data consistency across the entire system.
Key Responsibilities
Perform joint integration and end-to-end (E2E) testing of automotive telematics and connected vehicle services.
Validate interactions and data consistency between TSP backend microservices, vehicle-side systems (TCU/TCAM and in-vehicle infotainment), and mobile applications (iOS/Android).
Execute SQL queries independently to verify database records, data integrity, business logic, and state transitions across integrated systems.
Analyze backend logs using tools such as Kibana, Splunk, and ELK Stack to identify root causes of integration failures, API mismatches, and communication issues.
Investigate end-to-end data flows, message exchanges, and service orchestration across distributed systems.
Design, develop, and execute integration test scenarios covering real-world connected vehicle use cases, including remote commands, vehicle status, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, eCall, and remote diagnostics.
Perform API testing and validate communication protocols, message payloads, and service responses.
Verify communication between systems using protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT, and Protobuf.
Collaborate with backend developers, vehicle integration teams, and mobile application teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Lead and participate in joint debugging sessions to identify root causes and drive defects to closure.
Validate backend business error codes, exception handling, and failure scenarios.
Prepare test reports, defect documentation, integration test results, and quality assessments to support release readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in integration testing, system validation, or joint debugging, preferably within the automotive telematics or connected vehicle domain.
Strong understanding of connected vehicle architecture, particularly TSP, TCU/TCAM, and mobile application interaction flows.
Hands-on experience with SQL queries and database validation using MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar relational databases.
Experience analyzing logs and troubleshooting issues across distributed backend systems.
Good understanding of networking and communication protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and MQTT.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, JMeter, or cURL.
Familiarity with log monitoring and analysis tools such as Kibana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.
Ability to trace end-to-end transactions and investigate failures across mobile applications, backend services, and vehicle systems.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier projects involving connected vehicle or telematics services.
Knowledge of T-Box/TCU registration, activation, provisioning, and TSP lifecycle management.
Familiarity with connected vehicle business processes, backend error codes, and exception-handling mechanisms.
Basic scripting skills in Python or Shell for log parsing, data preparation, and test automation support.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Understanding of microservices architecture, asynchronous messaging, and distributed system integration.
Exposure to OTA updates, eCall, remote diagnostics, remote vehicle commands, and vehicle status monitoring.
