Shape the future of commercial EV fleets. Join Aurora Engineering as a Product Manager to turn fleet needs into practical software—from dispatch and uptime to charging and cost management. Bring your
Location: Shanghai / Europe
Working arrangement: Hybrid, with travel to depots and customer sites
Aurora Engineering is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead a digital fleet-management platform for electric vans, light commercial vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
You will turn connected-vehicle data into practical tools that help fleet operators manage dispatch, charging, maintenance, drivers and operating costs. The role combines product strategy, customer discovery and delivery, with a strong focus on adoption and measurable business outcomes.
Your responsibilities
Own product strategy and delivery: Define the roadmap, pricing and packaging, addressing the distinct needs of van, light-commercial and heavy-duty fleets. Prioritise scalable features and manage competing customer requests.
Understand fleet operations: Work directly with fleet managers, dispatchers, depot supervisors, drivers and finance teams. Observe real operations and translate findings into product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Develop core fleet workflows: Lead functionality for real-time monitoring, dispatch, multi-drop routing, shift handovers, utilisation, maintenance, uptime, driver management and scorecards. Support cost allocation and settlement per vehicle and trip.
Lead charging and energy features: Address depot scheduling, load limits, time-of-use tariffs, home and public charging, roaming, settlement and Plug & Charge. Define where the platform controls operations and where it provides recommendations.
Improve battery and range insights: Develop SOC/SOH visibility, duty-cycle-based range prediction, low-charge and degradation alerts, and battery-health inputs for asset and residual-value assessment.
Define data and integrations: Work with engineering on vehicle signals, APIs and data contracts. Coordinate integrations with TMS, WMS, ERP, charging operators and OEM systems, considering standards such as GB/T 32960, OCPP, OCPI and ISO 15118.
Build in compliance and security: Address privacy, cross-border data requirements, battery traceability/passports and relevant vehicle access and weight restrictions.
Drive launch and adoption: Run pilots, define activation and retention metrics, support sales and service teams, and turn customer feedback into prioritised improvements.
Your background
Direct fleet-management domain experience is essential. You will bring:
Experience either operating a commercial fleet or delivering fleet-management software at a telematics, connected-services or fleet-SaaS provider.
A practical understanding of the full operating cycle: dispatch, charging, maintenance, driver issues and month-end settlement.
Strong van and last-mile delivery knowledge, including multi-drop routes, shift handovers, shared vehicles and charging constraints.
At least five years of product-management experience, including two years owning a B2B SaaS or connected-vehicle product, with examples of roadmaps you set and outcomes you delivered.
Working knowledge of AC/DC charging, load management, roaming, energy costs, battery behaviour and real-world range constraints.
Strong data and API literacy, including vehicle signal definitions, data contracts and SQL or BI analysis.
Evidence of measurable improvements in adoption, activation, retention, uptime or operating costs.
A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
Fluent written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in Chinese and/or an additional European language is an advantage, depending on the regional scope of the role.
Willingness to spend time at depots and customer sites. This product cannot be designed at the desk.
Additional advantages
Experience both operating fleets and developing fleet-management software.
Last-mile or express-delivery operations experience.
Leasing products and residual-value modelling.
Charging networks, energy tariffs, demand response or vehicle-to-grid services.
CILT, AFP, PMP or equivalent qualifications.
Chinese–English bilingual capability and European market experience.
